When I had a primary care physician that was a trans guy, I had to have several conversations with him that I am not a trans guy and to stop using he/him pronouns for me in my clinical notes. I think there’s still work to do for us nonbinary folks

😟 any time i feel worried that medicine might not be my path i hear another horror story and feel more inspired to push through and make medicine a better place for all trans people

There are so many horror stories from providers that are our own people. In addition to the experience above, I was discriminated against by my trans doctor and he refused to treat my asthma and just blamed it all on my weight. It’s hard knowing so many trans providers that are no better than our oppressors.
