anyone else get self conscious about not picking a super meaningful name?? like i like the sounds of my name, but there’s no underlying meaning that people automatically connect it to 😭

I mean to be fair that’s how most people name their babies, too: Sometimes there’s a deeper meaning, but a lot of the time it’s just whatever sounds nice.

My first and middle name actually mean the same thing cause my first name is a derivative of my middle name. This was not on purpose, I picked them ayyy different times for totally different reasons

My preferred name is the common nickname of my legal middle name which came from my aunt who passed away a couple months before I was born, but I’m also friends with someone named Spot and we each get the exact same looks when we introduce ourselves so names hardly matter in a strangers eyes

point is: researching name meaning can be good so you don't end up like me (that said I love my names)
