I'm not the OP, but the thing I miss the most is being able to interact with kids without getting weird looks. I volunteer with children, and when I passed as a cis woman, it was a lot easier to interact normally with them. As a guy, I feel like I'm always on edge about doing or saying the wrong thing. Before, nobody really batted an eye if I lifted a kid onto the ride I operate. Now I usually just leave anything that involves touching, to the parents

I understand the fear, it just hurts a bit to accept

i think about how i'm good with kids at things like ymca events and things like that bc people don't tend to listen to them or get on their level, and i watch myself now bc i have a kneejerk "don't say you like working with kids"
