(im ftm and my girlfriends cis) so ive been dating my girlfriend for just over 2 years now and things are absolutely amazing with her and this august we moved in together but i remember in the earlier months of us dating she was hesitant to tell her parents im trans cause theyre very religious and pretty conservative but she told them long ago and it seemed to go alright (more disappointment than hate but i could work with that) and ive made an effort to get ti know her parents well and we get

along just fine and ive never really questioned their feelings about me cause i felt thatd be ignorant of me cause theyve been so nice to me but recently my gfs youger sister reached out ti her super excited cause shes talking ti this boy and he recently opened up to her about being trans so she thought it would be funny if her and that boy become a couple two sisters would both be dating trans guys but recently the sister told her parents about it and they seemed to handle it very poorly

this is a bit shocking to me cause i assumed their experience with me may have changed their views on trans people but thats clearly not the case and i feel like absolute shit about it but i dont wanna bring it up to my gf cause shes a very family oriented person

Sounds to me like they’re holding out hope one of their daughters will be able to get pregnant and have bio kids and the thought of both of them being with trans guys is much harder to swallow

I mean tbh they probably aren’t alll that cool with trans people in general, they’re probably tolerating it. I wouldn’t let your guard down, and expect mask off moments but be happy when they do show support. That’s my approach anyway
