most important lesson on womanhood that i’ve been taught is that less is almost always more 🙏 get some earrings and rings, layer your outfits some more, and please don’t do up your makeup to the max every single day, it gets exhausting fast

i had a hard time conveying what i wanted to with the letter limit in the main post so i’m gonna elaborate here when i say less is more i mean that it is much more important to focus on the little things than trying to overcompensate (the overcompensation part doesn’t apply to ppl who truly want to dress like that for self fulfillment. i’m more talking to the people who feel as though they have to)

some examples of little changes i’ve been taught by the women in my life: - invisible makeup is much more important than bold makeup. doing my eyebrows, using some concealer over blemishes, and Maybe mascara depending on what i’m doing that day. in the past i would do my face up every. single. day. i’m talking primer, foundation, concealer, eyeliner (top and bottom), mascara, eyebrows, blush, highlights, bronzer, setting powder, etc. i was genuinely miserable 😭

- skincare is super important! getting a good skincare routine for your face gives you a much better base layer to work with. make sure you use a cleanser at LEAST every other day if not every day. get a moisturizer that you like and a hydrating serum. SPF moisturizer is great but if you live in a northern area during the winter the SPF will probably be overkill. make sure to use what’s Comfortable over anything. comfort is the goal here

- pleaaaasee start to accessorize. i literally have some gold / silver bracelets off of amazon that were dirt cheap. i have a couple anklets, a necklace i don’t take off (it’s a gift), a ring or two, and small gold earrings. these things add up so so so much i swear

- getting your nails done can also help DEPENDING ON YOUR DAILY ROUTINE!!! i don’t often get mine done because i have to use a computer most days along with my current school stuff needing me to write with a pen every day

- hair care is a game changer, but it’s also tough. figuring out what works for your hair can be a lengthy and Expensive process. my suggestion is to stick to cheaper things that you can get at smth like a CVS or Walgreens and maybe splurge on some luxury brands as an occasional treat 🙏

- shaving every inch of your body is not always worth it i promise 😵‍💫😵‍💫 in the colder months, i hardly shave my legs because i’m not wearing shorts anywhere other than home. this is just a me thing though, if you’re in a situation where you feel it’s necessary for you, then by all means please do so

- fashion is fucking HARD but never impossible. look up outfit inspiration, ask other women in your life or even just emulate them! i genuinely get most of my outfit ideas from my sister. it’s scary at first, but once you find your first fit it’s an unreal feeling. i know the urge to dive headfirst into hyperfeminine clothing is Strong, i’ve been there before, but if you’re like me, everyday street clothing will always be queen. some jeans that fit, a couple form fitting and loose shirts-

- at the end of the day, it’s about doing what’s comfortable for you. this is all coming from my perspective as a straight college age transgender lady who’s been on hormones for six years, so i know it’s not what everyone is looking for. all i want is for those of you who want to feel better in your own skin to know that you don’t have to break your back day in day out. oftentimes, these little things help you pass way more than big and bold statements. if yall have questions, please ask 💖🙌
