When you say old friend, do you mean someone you have been friends with for a while or someone you used to be friends with, because if it’s the former you should ask, but if it’s the latter, just go for it

People have the same name all the time. If it’s the name you want, then it shouldn’t matter. I knew guys with the name I chose but it had nothing to do with them
