How do you know if what you’re feeling is gender dysphoria or just body dysphoria or that thing where you sexualize the idea of having the opposite “parts” (I read in another post, forgot the name)?

The third thing, autogynephilia, does not exist and is an idea made up by a transphobe to differentiate between which trans women he deemed "fuckable".

The last thing: idk if it’s a real thing or just something transphobic people made up, because I’ve never heard anyone claiming to have it unless they’re trans people reclaiming it. The name for it is considered a slur. If you get off on the idea of having a different sex you’re probably trans

I guess I’ll get hate for this but I totally get the sex part. I watch p**n and often wish I was the girl. But the thought of transitioning is not something I intend to persue. Just curious what it must be like.

Getting off on the idea of being a different sex (i.e., having a fetish) is absolutely not the same thing as being trans, and it’s a very real thing that some people experience. Being trans isn’t based on what sexually arouses you

Well that’s what I mean like I know there’s like a disconnect I feel with me mind and body like something’s don’t feel “right” and I’m trying to figure stuff out

Really? So it’s not a thing at all or it’s sort of a thing?

It's bullshit made up by a quack doctor and anyone who believes in it has severe self hatred issues or is a raging transphobe. Steer clear of anyone who unironically uses it as a talking point for your own sanity

No I appreciate the honest. I don’t think I would medically transition at all but I have thought about what it would be like (in sex) to be a guy

Well maybe we will be told off for being in the wrong group to discuss this but you could always wear a strap on 😂

Good to know the other side sometimes thinks like that too though.

As someone going into Psych and has done paraphilia research, it can mean many things. You must take into account all biological, social, and emotional factors combined to properly evaluate how you feel on an identity level. It is true that some people, transgender or cisgender, experience sexual fantasies regarding their identity, but it’s up to you to determine those roots and what it means to you. You’ve got a lot of support from us!

to be clear i do not support the sexualization of trans bodies. But it’s good to view it from a multitude of perspectives to further understand yourself

also, don’t forget - gender expression is a spectrum! Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new things

Thanks🙂 also I don’t mean to sexualize anyone’s bodies or anything. I’m just not really sure what’s going on with me and might be too open how I talk, I really don’t mean to make anyone uncomfortable
