Trans Talk on Sidechat | Maybe I’m too sensitive/grumpy but I dislike the “you’re so valid” stuff. It’s a nice sentiment but it feels so uncomfortable to me. I don’t need someone else to tell me my gender is “valid”, my gender is who I am because I know it. Does this make sense?

Like I don’t care if YOU don’t think I’m nonbinary. I am, it is a fact. If I didn’t believe the world was round, it would still be round, whether or not I thought that was “valid”. And obviously I’m not saying this to allies because ultimately I recognize the “you’re valid” is an attempt to be supportive and I don’t want to discourage that for people who do like it.
