Does anyone know any cheap and easy food recipes that are filling and preferably healthy? I’m a trans guy who’s 5 months on T and I am *insatiable* hunger wise and it’s getting to the point where it’s starting to be an issue-

pasta & rice is filling and cheap, and if you want meat then chicken is generally the cheapest

Put a whole can of black beans (drained and rinsed) into anything to add volume, fiber, and protein

Make yourself a beans rice meat (AND SEASONINGGGG) and you can eat it in a variety of ways and its pretty cheap and filling. Also doesnt require a ton of effort and you can make a big batch of it

lentils can be surprisingly similar in taste and texture to ground beef in a chili if you want to bulk up the portion for cheap

Oooo yeah that’s smart, the only thing is that I have a lot of food allergies like gluten, garlic, and dairy and gluten free pasta is expensive. But rice and meat sounds great

find mixes you like too! if you’re not much of a cook, you can get premade mixes or even those microwaveable rice meals. if you like a certain one a lot, you can look at the ingredients or look online to see if there’s a sauce/gravy recipe that you can start making yourself :D

rice, meat, sauce and vegetables is an unbeatable meal. should try stir frying your vegetables it’s very easy just a little oil in a pan and stir until golden brown

Uuuuuugh yes this all sounds so good I love it, thank you! If you think of anything else let me know! I love things like seafood and other protein heavy stuff so I’m definitely writing this all down

yeah i def recommend rice veggies and a protein. i was gluten free for a bit and mostly still eat rice as a carb. super easy to make a bowl with other things and it’s easy enough on the stomach.

if you don’t already shop at trader joe’s you should check it out they have a great freezer section with lots of stuff in that vein that’s super easy to heat up. they also have these microwaveable rice pouches which are nice when i’ve had a long day and don’t want to make more dishes making rice as well

yesss as someone who used to work at trader joe’s their microwave meals with rice and the frozen rice packets are fire. i also recommend making a shit ton of rice at once and then freezing it on your own if you want smth cheaper.
