Getting an IUD was life saving for me. I have no period anymore or hormonal changes and. It’s a good solution until you can afford/schedule a hysterectomy. (Not trying to tell you what to do, just saying what worked for me)

my insurance is allegedly (i do not trust this at all) offering certain surgeries free this year and i really considered a hysterectomy just to finally get rid of it. i'm trying slynd for continuous use birth control rn so we'll see how that plays out

i've heard that shit hurts so bad tho 💔 and i worry that it would regulate my period instead of removing it cause i usually only have 2-4 periods a year

Mine only hurt for the first month and like regular period pain (obviously everyone is different, I’m autistic and have a really high pain tolerance/I don’t recognize things if they’re consistent) and if it’s a hormonal one not copper it should stop the period with maybe occasional spotting. If you’re interested maybe talk to your doctor? I’m sorry tho dude it sucks a ton

OH HEY if you aren’t looking to do HRT then I’ve heard you should get the surgery that just removes your tubes instead of a hysterectomy which removes the ovaries too, cause if your ovaries are removed your hormones will be out of wack but with the tubes removal they’ll be there and keep working as usual. I’m sure you can still do HRT whichever way you want if you want to if you keep them, but it just keeps you from being forced to do HRT or suffer with your hormones not doing their thing

you can get a hysterectomy without ovary removal. getting your tubes tied is an option, but i'd rather get my uterus out.
