I’ve never met a chaser who wasn’t creepy tbh, but then again I despise being sexualized by anyone I’m not in a relationship with

chasers don’t actually give *you* attention; they give attention to the fetishized idea of you they have in your head, and—at best—get upset when you don’t meet their “standards”

this is literally the case with all crushes, what gets you excited is the possibility of what might be

do crushes try to stop you from transitioning or see you as a sexual amalgamation? or

and I’m pretty sure crushes don’t threaten to out you to people so that you do what they want 💀 chasers don’t crush on you, they aren’t excited about the possibility of getting to know you. they’re content with boiling you down to your body & to a gender you aren’t, and react emotionally or even violently if you don’t meet that. you can want their attention while acknowledging it’s unhealthy, but treating them as harmless puts you at such unnecessary risk.

i think we have had quite different experiences with chasers, and also those fall under the category of creeps

calling them “creeps” implies you can tell before you get involved lmao

and even if you’re not talking about people like that, chasers still don’t give attention to you. they don’t care about you as a person, just that you’re trans. even if you found a chaser that wanted to marry you, they’d still be there exclusively because you transitioned. who you are is secondary at best. there’s so many people more worthy of *your* attention.

a chaser is someone who chases trans people, seeking them out because they’re trans. what other definition is there 😭

I get that :/ feeling alone is an incredibly common experience for us, and it’s hard to navigate that. it’s why I’m so vehemently against people engaging with chasers, since they so often take advantage of us. the journey finding your people can be hard and isolating, but you’ll never find them if you settle for those who won’t be that for you. it takes so much strength just to get here; please don’t set that strength aside, and know that we’re proud of you
