Y’all my current therapist cant give me a phalloplasty referral um. Would it be rude to say “can you give me a phalloplasty referral” out the jump when looking for new therapists

when looking for a therapist for an ffs referral i was able to find someone who specialized in letters of support. one and done appointment

So in my area there's a medical center that specializes around trans healthcare and they have therapists who specialize in dysphoria. I've been recommended to go there for all my letters and referrals. It's worth looking for something like that

you can just state that you’re looking for a “letter of support” for gender affirming surgery (specifically phallo) and ask of that’s a service they provide if you’ve already contacted a surgeon, they may have a list of providers they’ve previously worked with. if your state has a big hospital/university gender center, they may also have providers and/or a list. also, might want to check if they need a certain kind of therapist to write the letter (msw vs ma vs psyd etc).

I would also ask around on local trans groups and stuff like that, there's bound to be people in a similar spot who can tell you where to go
