I changed my name first and then the marker. It’s going to vary by state what the process looks like, but it’s doable. I changed my name in AZ, where my birth certificate was issued, and so I updated that at the same time. Then changed my marker on my license in NY where I live as it would be much easier to change my BC with that, and then requested my BC be fixed after doing so.

in NC the processes are completely separate. so i changed my name, but if i ever wanted to change my gender marker i still could

Yee I know the name doesn’t have to line up, I’ve just only heard of people doing both at the same time so I wanted to know if it was possible to do one and then the other later :)
