i just referred to myself with he/him pronouns for the first time without thinking about it beforehand! it just came out automatically! weirdly gender affirming even though it came from me :D

also for context i’ve been out as transmasc for about 5 years and use they/he pronouns but usually default to “they”. if i use “he” i have to do it consciously but i just did it automatically this time! i know it doesn’t seem like a huge step but i consider it progress

Old habits die hard and your old habits are in fact dying!

especially because it took me a while to get used to my correct name and pronouns at first. like i would deadname and misgender myself by accident for a long time just out of habit. i guess what im trying to say is that 1. progress isn’t linear and 2. for people who might be doubting themselves that it’s completely normal to have to get used to your new name and/or pronouns. it’s a change for everyone, including yourself
