It sucks that I feel like I’m outgrowing Taylor. It just feels like most of the music she has put out recently is about how you need a man to save you and I just think that is unhealthy bc true happiness comes from yourself not a partner

Like I think that so much of her music used to be about love but not needing a man to come save you or that getting picked by one man is somehow your greatest life achievement. I know I became so much happier after I stopped putting my worth into deciding if a man picked me and I just think this isn’t a healthy narrative to push

Like even comparing Cleveland to shake it off. I would consider both to be cringey songs but in shake it off she is like fuck the haters I am going to keep being myself but while in Cleveland it is fuck the haters I have man who loves me and picked me rather than it being about loving herself. I don’t think I would be as likely to point this out if she had songs about Travis that weren’t he saved me

Well, I think Taylor has always been like that. She wants a fairytale, and those usually include a night in shining armor. That single era of hers only lasted like 6 months, lol.

I’m from Cleveland and it’s so bad. My mom who is a huge Taylor swift fan said, “just like Cleveland browns, I had such high hopes for the song and it was a disappointment”

I did forget about so high school that song isn’t about how he saved her but I do feel like the other ones mentioned are about how he saved her. Like the alchemy she was miserable until he came back. Opalite is about how she was miserable until Travis came into her life and he saved her from the misery. Wi$h li$t is about how she doesn’t need material things bc a man finally picked her. Honey the bridge is about how Travis saved her from being called honey from Matty
