I’m not sure if yall caught it last night but on the Anderson cooper nye show on cnn but gaylor was defined by the people on the show as a gay taylor swift fan. Swifties tell gaylors to die all the time and this is where swifties get our homophobic rep

Yes! People get disproportionately mad when queer Swifties discuss how cergai lyrics/songs resonate with them & relate to their life experiences, which I definitely think stems from a place of homophobia, recognized or not.

Bc the general public views gaylors as gay Taylor swift fans, when members of the general public see yall saying things like every gaylor should kill themselves they think yall are talking about gay swifties. I don’t agree with gaylors but as a lesbian the way that swifties talk about queerness does make me deeply uncomfortable and I have felt progressively less safe in swiftie spaces bc there seems to even be a layer of if you are a gay swiftie you are a gaylor and you have to prove you aren’t

So you don’t get told to kill yourself. Like I know you all hate the gaylors but let’s please stop being homophobic in respect to gaylors, yall need to stop commenting that it is gross when queer couples use taylor songs (there was a trend a while back using the bridge of guilty as sin and showing wlw weddings and without fail on most of the posts there was something about how being queer is unnatural and perverted and how taylor doesn’t want her music used in that way in the comments)

Oh absolutely! And I think that contributes to gay swifties being labeled as creepy and perverted especially lesbian swifties. And they always do it in the name of defending Taylor from the Gaylors even if it is someone relating the song to their own life or a fictional character especially sapphic characters (I have noticed with the number of Taylor swift heated rivalry edits that gay male couples aren’t creepy to swifties but sapphic relationships are)
