Why are people so mad about Actually Romantic? Even if Sympathy Is A Knife is about insecurities, it still hurts when someone who you think you’re friends (or friendly) with actually hates you (even for insecurities). It's valid to have a response.

I love this song because I had a close friend who still talks badly about me even though we haven’t spoken in years. It’s relatable and not every song has to be analyzed about how Taylor feels. It’s also about how the listener feels

Same! Also, for me, when I stopped being friends with said friend, it wasn’t a bad or angry ending, we just drifted, so I still cheered her on my head, but then I found out she was hating on me, and it hurt, but I was also like “well that’s embarrassing for you” yk?

Also, I know it doesn’t have to be analyzed on how Taylor feels, but I was also saying she has a right not to be happy about it.

I feel the same way! I actually agree with you, I just didn’t make it super clear earlier (my bad). I was referring more about the comments from people saying it was a bad diss track. I thought she explained perfectly how weird/funny it feels to go through that ex-friendship situation and try to be the bigger person and they can appreciate the song without only focusing on Taylor’s exact situation.

I thought you did, but I wasn't sure lol. And yes, I agree. I feel like a lot of these people are newer fans and weren't around for Taylor’s “messy” eras. Not that it’s bad to be a new fan.
