it honestly has set up a stereotype that there are no normal swifties, one that every one of us face when we tell people we listen to taylor on any level or basis — that we’re freakishly obsessed and would “die for her”. yes, taylor has released a huge chunk of songs that changed the trajectory of my life, but i would not stalk or follow her every movement like some of these online theorists do.

YES and when someone finds out i listen to her they have so many assumptions- and i get called white washed cs i’m black but idrc. like i listen to literally EVERY genre and have playlists for all of my fav artists but the over the top swifties have set the standard of needing to be obsessed to be able to enjoy her music, rather than the music itself. it’s so annoying cs yes i love her music but like i love almost all types of music 😭

it is inexplicably fun to uncover a bunch of the easter eggs that she has laid, but that is VERY different to the people who follow her like paparazzi and post where she is every night
