Controversial but I think Taylor only feels lust for Travis. She doesn’t seem to be in love. And every song she talks about him, it’s sexual.

I think she loves him in more of a puppy love modern way vs romantic poet take me to the lakes pride and prejudice way

i see what you’re saying but i really think that it’s just a different type of love than we’ve seen. rather than obsession like with the kennedy guy, anxious love with joe, and spontaneous love with the guy from owl city, it’s more of a simple kind of love that she could only imagine she’d feel in “high school.” i don’t think Swifties as a whole can determine whether or not she seems to be in love. that’s entirely her choice.

She doesn’t sound happy in her love songs with him imo, she sounds very bitter for some reason. It made sense the TTPD but showgirl was so bitter and it was kinda confusing

especially with the recent albums.. ttpd really is a depressive album and to switch from that to tloas was astronomical. midnights is still depressive while ttpd is probably more obsessive in songs like guilty as sin and ttpd(song). and then before that we have evermore which is literally a depressed winter/fall album. i don’t think it’s fair to compare songs as if they’re apples. i think that the different albums are different fruits at least imo

I agree! It’s not an intimate love feeling that we usually hear in her songs. I’m head over heals for my man and I can’t relate to her new “love” songs. Idk it feels forced. And also compare dress to wood….

Unfortunately we gotta compare silly to silly so like, London boy v wood and the sentiment is not there. I want to believe she’s happy with Travis bc the pics and interviews make it seems so but I can’t stop thinking about how she wrote enchanted for a guy she met at a party and we got honey for Travis?

I mean it’s not really silly to compare the two. Both songs are about having sex. One is very intimate and the other is graphic and lustful and that’s the point I’m trying to make I suppose. Her love songs use to be so elegant and romantic. Even London boy seems more endearing than wood or so high school imo.

Haha honey is okay. The message is great, I totally get it but it’s not accomplishing what she wants. It has me feeling like Taylor that’s all you have to say ab him loving you? If that makes sense lol. Idk man. I just feel like she’s settling

tbh i don’t see where you got that all of her songs for him are sexual? like wood, yes. but honey is such a sweet song. ik im biased but i really related to it and its just a simple song that describes all of these bad connotation with supposedly loving words and he brings back those basic meanings to her. that’s not about sex.

Opalite isn’t about sex either. If anything it’s more about dissing on his ex. but even then she lightens it up with saying that it was a phase, like she herself, had gone through and now they’d found each other. like i think it’s a pretty song, not my favorite but i can see that she’s into him. so again, we can’t determine whether she’s in love or not, only she can. and this is just a different kind that she hasn’t truly displayed.

The anxiety is something that’s present in all her love songs, going back to love story, and we still have so much of it in showgirl. I don’t think people see it bc she seems happy with Travis. I do agree that we can’t say whether she’s happy or not but the songs are pretty bitter imo. Maybe she’s happy with Travis but bitter about something else?

i lowkey think it could be bc of Matty?? like he promised her everything and ripped it away from her. i think maybe she’s anxious that it’s gonna happen again. especially since she’s so deep that she’s engaged now, but every relationship is gonna have anxiety. again i see where you’re coming from, but idk if id call it bitter.
