One of her biggest songs is literally changing the ending of Romeo and Juliet you all just need to complain about something
I’m sorry but she did NOT read hamlet. Ariadne could’ve made sense but Ophelia makes no sense for the message she was trying to push.

First of all, no one’s denying that the fate of Ophelia is a good song, just like love story is a good song. Second, it’s just another example of how she never uses literature characters and themes correctly, and people are allowed to dislike it

Also she was a teenager when she wrote love story, so it makes sense that she didn’t fully understand the story. But to call yourself an English teacher and not use characters correctly is a little weird

And that makes no sense either. She loves portraying herself as these tragic women throughout history when she’s in no way similar to any of them.

“history” these aren’t real women. she isn’t saying she’s similar to them, she’s taking elements from their STORIES and turning it into a metaphor for a song.

english teacher is a joke lol and she isn’t trying to use them correctly it’s a reference and a metaphor. do swifites need to go back to english class?

you can dislike it but to act like her life needs to be 100% related to the characters she is referencing is just faux outrage

It’s not the first time tho. The scarlet letter references in love story and New Romantics make no sense

Can you people please watch her interviews/the clips in the movie of her explaining these things before purposefully committing yourselves to misunderstanding her? I am begging.

What part of “different scarlet letters” does not make sense to you?

If we have to watch or listen to something besides the music videos or the album to fully understand something then it wasn’t executed properly.

Girl you are not a Swiftie if you’re not going to sit back and actually listen to what Taylor has to say about her own music please see the door to your left

Why would I watch a football podcast when I don’t like football? Listening to this album is like reading a half written book, but to finish the story, I have to watch a tv show. Interviews and talk shows are fine but they shouldn’t add anything meaningful to the album.

it wasn’t about football it was about taylor and the podcast. also the movie taylor explains the albums. u don’t need to listen to anything but then idk why ur engaging in bad faith criticism
