imo the albatross is sooooo underrated, i feel like since not a lot of people are familiar with the history of the symbolism of an albatross, they kind of ignore the song as a whole, but the message of the song is just so good

Seeing an albatross is like superstition too no? They believed it bought the bad luck right or if somebody would die

it comes from the rime of the ancient mariner! basically seeing an albatross is thought to be good luck but if you harm it then it's bad luck. this mariner (sailer) killed an albatross and was then forced to carry its corpse around his neck, if my memory serves me correctly.
