So heated rivalry edits are okay and are not speculation on Taylor’s sexuality and aren’t creepy, but if I were to make the same edit but replace the gay men with gay women I would be a pervert. This is why I hate being a lesbian swiftie

Yall only like gay swifties when they are a gay man you can carry around like an accessory. Yall are so homophobic and the way you have acted about heated rivalry has further shown me how homophobia and being a swiftie are like this 🤝

I brought this up on TikTok as well and was told if I was a standard swiftie I wouldn’t notice or care and I’m just like yall have really committed

Okay so i totally get what you mean cause i also have noticed over time that there are a few people in this fandom who make weird and homophonic comments and that is not okay at all but i do have a question and maybe i understood that wrong but what does taylor's sexuality have to do with headed rivalry like do you mean an edit with a taylor swift song or?

Whenever I have seen an edit with two sapphic characters to a Taylor swift song I always see a comment about how using the song to describe queer love/experiences is saying that Taylor herself is queer. I haven’t seen that same sentiment echoed on heated rivalry edits. From my perspective it seems like it is okay to use Taylor’s songs for queer men because most swifties find it attractive while with sapphic edits to Taylor’s songs are seen as predatory to Taylor herself

A lot of people will say that any sapphic edit even if it is two fictional characters is automatically gaylor content while the heated rivalry edits don’t get that same label (which the gaylor label comes with death threats and doxxing)

oh yeah now i totally get what you mean that's what i've noticed too and i also think that it's really weird of people too make those comments like i get when people criticize videos where other people speculate about taylor's sexuality cause that's none of our business obviously but to make homophobic comments on edits is just really rude cause that's also not a thing taylor stands for...

and also death threats are not okay in any context like idk if it's just me but i've also noticed that this kinda behavior has gotten worse over the past years like maybe i haven't noticed it earlier but i don't remember it being that bad in the past and i'm also pretty sure that those comments are just an excuse to make a homophobic comment...

I think people love to use gaylors as an excuse to be homophobic. I don’t personally agree with speculating on Taylor’s sexuality but I have been told that even viewing Taylor’s music through a queer lens even when relating it your own life makes you a gaylor. And like when I try to call out homophobia in the swiftie fandom I get told that I’m being a gaylor or that I should blame the gaylors for other swifties being homophobic bc they are only homophobic to the gaylors

I also feel it has gotten progressively worse ever since Travis came into the picture. I faced homophobia before Travis but the homophobia I have faced since 2023-2024 in this fandom is honestly scary

omg yeah same like it's literally so annoying of people to make those disgusting and disrespectful comments and to use that gaylor term in a completely wrong context like i'm so sorry for anyone who has to deal with that and i personally don't get why people get offended when swifties don't think about a man when listening for example to lover like it's completely normal in general that everyone has different experiences and therefore views taylor's songs a different way...

yeah i think that it's really important to call out that kinda behavior and that also goes for some fans not only making homophobic comments but also racist comments and i'm personally not a fan of travis, like don't get me wrong i'm happy that taylor is happy and she seems comfortable with him but i did notice a change since she started dating travis and i don't really know if it's new fans or people who just become more extreme but honestly its ether way scary and needs to stop...

Oh for sure 1000% I remember when the I can do it with a broken heart music video came out and there was a girl who was seen in the music video wearing a hijab and i remember how quickly swifties called her a terrorist and other racially motivated comments like that. Swifties are the most accepting group if you are a white skinny straight woman or a conventionally attractive man

yeah and it's soooo sad to see that cause obviously i don't agree with those people and i think that it's important that everyone feels welcome in a fandom and that other "fans" treat people in general like that is just disgusting i mean being a fan is supposed to be about liking an artist and their music, it's not a competition and it shouldn't be an excuse for hatful behavior...
