Because it’s not life threatening unless it gets infected. They don’t pull people unless it’s potentially life threatening or if they could have major long term affects like never walking again. It was only a small bit of his thumb, and I’m sure he received plenty of medical attention on the island and I bet it hurts like hell, but as long as it stays clean he’ll be fine. It can’t feel good though
