I see where you’re coming from but Rick clearly does not want that alliance and if he told Joe, Joe would consider him locked in to it. Honesty would mean Rick telling Joe he doesn’t want an alliance which obviously he can’t do. So while I get why Joe was upset, Rick was backed into a corner and did his best to get out of it.
Yeah I don’t get why he didn’t tell him about the alliance. Being paired up with Joe wouldn’t be the end of the world, just pretend to be his next Eva then blindside him when needed. But Rick is also right, Joe’s gameplay does not mesh very well with the players on that tribe or really most people. I get the sense that, in general, people on Survivor 50 want to get messy, backstab, and have a little fun with it. The loyalty component doesn’t fit very well in that
I don’t think anyone is in the wrong or right, it’s how they wanna play their game and I think both made mistakes in this situation that may affect their game. Joe was right but he coulda used that against Rick instead of trying to use it to reel Rick back in. All in all the moment led to some really unique gameplay so good w me.. that’s what’s fun about this group all having very different styles of play, it’s cause for dramaaaa
