Tbf the producers knew that wasn't happening, and if they thought there was a chance then they probably would've had a normal vote. But the decision to do that or not could reveal information to the players that they aren't supposed to know, so I don't like that it's an option.

but i also don’t think it would reveal info to the players if there was a vote, because the expectation/MO at tribal council is to have a vote. to the contrary, not having a vote signals to the players that it’s a foregone conclusion, which was def the case for mitch in this scenario. even so, i still wholeheartedly believe in having votes all the time, hence why i voted against final four fire-making.

That's fair but if it becomes more of the norm to skip the vote when it's an easy consensus vote, then it could start interfering with the game
