Like Kamilla’s reactions to everything are comical. Tiff is one of the funniest women of the new era. Genevieve is the head of an alliance and a fan favorite. CIRIE FIELDS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST PLAYERS TO EVER PLAY THE GAME!!! And all four of them have gotten a 0-confessional episode at LEAST once this season. Wild.

Just by reading through the list of confessional counts https://www.deviantart.com/justafknstick/gallery/87124639/us-confessional-charts it doesn’t really seem like women being under-edited is that true. I feel like big characters & people that were more important to the story line get the most confessionals, be it a man or woman. Gabon: Sugar had the most confessionals because she was super important to the story they were trying to tell. DvG: Angelina had the most. Caramoan: Cochran, etc.

You’re joking right? 7 of the 12 women this season have had a 0-confessional episode, which is absolutely unprecedented. The men this season have had a combined 197 confessionals, while the women have had just 118, DESPITE THERE BEING ONE MORE WOMAN THAN MAN IN THE GAME. It’s completely unbalanced. The women are nearly invisible

Also I think you’re failing to understand how episodes work. Every player you named has had at least one episode where they aren’t at tribal council. Those tribes get much less screen time and less meaningful confessionals. That’s probably why you noticed that. Not a gender thing

Then why aren’t the men on those tribes invisible? Obviously tribes not going to tribal council will get less screentime, but you can’t ignore that even then it’s completely imbalanced based on gender

I share your frustration but I’ve been enjoying the season, like yes I want to hear more from tiff and Genevieve but it’s not a huge deal(we all know production lets us down constantly now)

It’s a huge deal because this has been going on for DECADES now. Almost every season the women are underedited. I don’t have the stats in front of me right now but I’ve seen charts before and it’s really shocking. Survivor has always been male-focused but this season has been especially bad

I’m drawing a blank right now but we didn’t hear much from Charlie, Jonathan, or Joe at first, and while Coach Colby and Rizo have definitely had too much time in the spotlight it’s because production is so obviously trying to set up certain edits. As the season goes on we’ll see a more balanced distribution, just gotta trust the process. I get being upset over it but I don’t think it’s that deep

Like I said, this is a historical pattern. It’s not just a random observation about this season. Women are consistently underedited in Survivor and this season is especially bad

I agree that the women have been great, which only makes it even more awful that they’re repeatedly nearly invisible. Watch however you want, but don’t be ignorant. You can enjoy the show while also acknowledging that they repeatedly do the women dirty while highlighting less than average men
