If you haven’t read the Veldt by Ray Bradbury I think it incredibly relevant to our world now. Especially with how technology is replacing parenting.

Hot take: nothing is replacing parenting. There have always been parents that neglect their children’s development, we just choose to romanticize the old way of doing it

I agree. I was not trying to romanticize the old way with this post. I was trying to highlight the fact that neglectful parenting in modern times has seemed to become a very easy option due to the technology of today and how much society relies on technology in general.

I gotcha. Not tryna argue, was just saying that parents back in my day just left us outside and didn’t look for us until nightfall, now they stick them on a screen. I just feel it’s the same (minus the benefit of exercise and vitamin d)

All good that makes sense. It’s crazy that parents think it’s okay to leave their child unattended for so long regardless of if they’re outside or on a screen
