No no I get it dw. It’s fine in small doses, I tend to feel bad about flat out complaining. But I had a friend who did this all the time. And then I’d present solutions and she’s just go back to her self pity and wallowing, and not make ANY attempt to help herself. I can’t stand it. She’d practice looking depressed, I stg

I think I’ve done this before. It’s like soft launching your hardships. You don’t want to vent to be people cold open, so you want to litmus test if they’re open to being a shoulder to cry on

If they don't lean in, i take it as signal that they don't have the emotional space to hear out all my woes, and i respect that boundary rather than trauma dumping on the spot.
