i hate the whole concept of a “blaccent”
like people just speak differently, stop attributing it to race. my little brother gets so much shit for “speaking white” and it’s like… he’s just well spoken wtf do you mean white

nope. blaccents are real. accents and dialects are directly related to race in terms of cultural affiliation. geographical location plays a crucial role in this as well.

people say “speaking white” due to the assumption that literacy is inherently white. this dates back to a time period where black communities did not have equal opportunity for education. this is a cultural bias that still exists today.
