Yeah, because that’s the whole point of pride flags

It quite literally is. “I’m proud of who I sleep with” and it’s the only personality trait y’all can come up with.

Boo, you can just come out as gay, I guarantee the majority of people won’t care. You seem to be hyper-fixated on it, and the minute you come out, it just won’t matter that much.

I have more to my personality than who I sleep with thanks. Should’ve never been this big deal to announce to anyone. No one gives a shit and we don’t want to hear about what you do in the privacy of your own home. Making a flag for it doesn’t make it any better.

You still thinking the pride flag has anything more to do with than showcasing pride in a characteristic that they were born with but punished for for 1000 of years shows how incredibly F ed your world view on this is

The fact that your only response is “haha you’re gay” for me telling you I’m sick of ‘I’m sleeping with the same sex as my personality’ tells me you’re an idiot.

You realize that's not actually what's going on right? That's merely your interpretation. The pride flag symbolizes unity and love. It says love transcends all and comes in infinite forms and that staying true to yourself despite facing immense adversity is an accomplishment to be proud of. It has nothing to do with sex. You're the one who's making it about sex.

Imagine hating people and judging people for who they love and sleep with. It’s absurd. LGBTQ people didn’t decide to identify by their choice of partners, bigots did that to them. If everyone were allowed to love who they love, it wouldn’t be the whole basis of an identity, just a quality like hair color.

I hope this silence you're giving all of us is the result of you are taking some time to reevaluate your psyche rather than the result of you avoiding flaws in your worldview. I hope you know this is not tearing us apart the way it clearly is with you. I'll be praying for you.

I really don’t care who anyone sleeps with, but it’s absurd that it needs to be broadcast everywhere. It’s really a private thing that y’all have made into your only focus. And things like the pride parade are disgusting with people in fetish equipment and almost completely naked in public. Doesn’t really matter what the flag is supposed to mean when y’all don’t use it that way.

Pretty quick fix if you don’t like seeing pride broadcast so much is to vote for people that make sure LBGBTQ people have equal rights as straight people. Right now that’s not the case. Cmon dog

Adoption and healthcare aren’t rights but I’d like to hear what you think is going on with them. Employment discrimination is quite literally federally illegal. Public accommodation isn’t a right.

The right to equal adoption and healthcare are fundamental rights. There are literally numerous examples of companies, states, etc circumventing federal laws at no cost to them. Look it up. We all know you’re a dogshit human being based on this comment section but nitpicking the word “rights” absolutely will not help your argument in anyone else’s eyes whatsoever

As much as I hate federalism, federal law reigns supreme when challenging a state law. You need to do some homework before trying to correct someone. You’re the one who said “make sure lgbt people have the same rights as straight people”. Don’t get all pissy because you don’t know what a right is or isn’t.

You just lied and said that all states and municipalities follow federal laws around ensuring LGBTQ people get the same civil rights as straight people (which isn’t true but you knew that already). At the end of the day the fact that they don’t justifies pride flags and pride parades and people like know falling into ignorance around real struggles they face pretty much ensures pride will be around for the foreseeable future.

That’s not what I said. Here’s your insult since you requested it, you can’t read. I said when state and federal laws conflict the federal law takes priority. You keep jumping from civil rights to “fundamental rights” which you are implying human rights. Once again, adoption and healthcare aren’t rights. Just because you want them to be doesn’t make them so. Do you support pride so much because you also think lgbt should have the ‘human right’ to dance around basically naked in front of minors?

Buddy, here’s why I insulted you, and you deserved it, it’s because you keep getting caught up on the definition of what’s a fundamental, civil or whatever right instead of being upset that these people can’t do basic things in a lot of states like “adopt a child” or “apply for public housing” in the same way straight people can is crazy. And then to ignore how sad that is and play the victim card that an occasional pride parade has people dressed in a way you don’t like is beyond reason.
