I can’t stand a bitch who refuses to vote. Don’t ever complain about shit in the country then since you love being an idiot. Saw someone say “it’s because I’m ignorant and don’t have interest” are you also illiterate? It’s not hard to read policy 😐

I agree with the sentiment but it can be hard to read policy, especially when said policy is written as opaquely as possible and many Americans struggle with reading comprehension

I agree regarding comprehension but I feel like (and I know I’m simplifying) at that point they either need to google the simplified version, go to YouTube, or google things because voting is too important to the structure of our country and politics are too important for citizens to be unaware just because they saw something they didn’t understand and gave up

Because it’s not. If you have a reading level above that of a 6th grader it’s not hard to understand

It’s hard to read on and research policy to a point you know for certain which you agree with and would decide to vote for. Don’t tell me you just read one article and say yeah that’s it right there I’m educated now.

There’s literally multiple articles that simplify it for you. You don’t need to read a damn research paper to figure it out. Also researching it isn’t that hard either when these papers about it are literally written so the average American can understand. You do more work regarding politics in an AP Gov or PIG class in high school

If politics is that serious, why would you not put in more work on being educated about it than ur high school gov class? Like what

the majority of Americans don't though because our education system is garbage. I agree with your general sentiment but you sound so incredibly privileged that it makes me want to disagree with you

Me? Because I took an AP gov class and what I’m talking about rn was stuff I knew before that

Ah yes it’s incredibly privileged to know how to listen when people speak, look up things you don’t know (mind you, it’s possible to look up simplified versions of information so it’s not like it’s some incredibly difficult information to find), ask people who know more than me if I don’t know something, and read an article that is DESIGNED for the average American to understand. Also since someone commented about this before, I went to a school that was considered “ghetto” “uneducated”

“inner city” etc. I also know multiple people who were in similar or worse situations. It’s not privileged to know how to use resources majority of people have access to

So I’m going to say this again, you do more work in those classes. Work does not equal information. You don’t have to do assignments to read an article on your own or watch videos explaining current information to you
