Oh brother. What if people say this because they don’t want to talk about politics? That is their right. Also, a lot of people who aren’t “political” are working long hours, trying to support themselves and don’t have the time to read about politics and cry about it online. Assuming every apolitical person is “privileged” is dense.
imo this is a very black and white stance and contributes to the political divide by placing neutral people on a side. Not everyone can be an activist, not everyone has to speak out. I think people SHOULD speak out, but I dont think NOT speaking out makes you automatically compliant with evil.
totally get where you're coming from, but a lot of people equate any concerns about mental health in relation to politics to just being uncomfortable. and like, no. bc some people's mental health is crippling, these are disabilities. and we can't help anyone if our mental health tanks and we off ourselves, so it is still important for those who can't handle the full brunt of the current political climate to take a step away from it until they're stable
Again. If someone does not want to vote, that is their right. If that person does not align with the values of either candidate, then that is their right not to vote. They are not a bad person. And let’s be real, you don’t actually want these people to vote to exercise their right to vote. You want these people to vote for YOUR ideal candidate.
