But you’re also seeing a world that is tired of being played for fools by those in power. When the government tries to tell you what you can/can’t do, there’s a problem. Again, it’s all about what you’re getting fed by the media. One US president isn’t going to set the world on fire when all the world has to do is ignore him bc he’s a child. This is part of growing up (getting older). You actually understand the things you were taught as a child and can apply them to real world consequences

Oh he’s fs great at stoking tensions and just going crazy with some really outlandish things sometimes (Trump), but globally, a lot of the issues are unhappy people and oppressive govts /: A lot of people don’t understand the oppression Spain has enacted on N. African enclaves Ceuta and Melilla in Morocco (asylum seekers, it got violent, Spain covered it up) just as an example. In Iran, for example, ppl were unhappy with the former Ayatollah after he took power in ‘79 Trump certainly has influenced the MidEast in both terms, but people are unhappy bc of poor economic conditions, lack of personal expression and freedom, lack of access to education for women… But that’s always been a volatile region out there. The EU is also dealing with mass immigration and people they can’t vet the identity of and citizens of those who deal with it are afraid of cultural changes…

#11 is correct. Tackling racism was something Obama attempted. It wasn’t revealed until nearly 6 years after he was out of office that social media sites were targeted to selectively promote and censure US citizens. Another government initiative that started noble, but by the end … it wasn’t. It was a form of Jawboning (word of the day).

Exactly. I wasn’t saying Obama was the only president to use Jawboning, just that what 11 said was correct. These groups are as tight knit as they are now BECAUSE Obama accidentally pushed them together. If you can’t speak freely somewhere, most people go find somewhere else to talk, or band together to get rid of the restrictions. Humans are pack animals after all.

Another example of jawboning social media platforms was during the covid pandemic. The lab leak theory isn’t a theory anymore, it was confirmed as the source of the virus. But suggesting it was possible wasn’t allowed on social media at the time BECAUSE of jawboning. Its how you got that one clip of John Stewart going nuts

It’s because of how the data gets recorded. The standard is set by the Office of Management and Budget and the FBI follows that standard and thats where every study gets their data from. Arab gets classified as white so the Pulse nightclub shooting for example counts as a hate crime by a white person.
