I think a lot of people are just not happy with taking actions that could result in unnecessary economic or political damage. The ICE thing is a whole separate problem, and mostly because it’s becoming a surveillance tool and is being exploited against minorities in (generally) abusive or illegal ways.

harboring illegal immigrants results in economic damage as they are often using government resources (at least when they first get here) while being undocumented (thus not paying taxes). venez not being under a dictator is better for u.s. oil and is creating jobs for american ppl immigrants in general are usually minorities, so while i agree that deporting legal citizens is unjust, it may also seem to the naked eye to be targeting minorities when its just statistics

economic damage? Maduro shrunk venezuelas gdp by 80%. That Venezuela would have collapsed in the next five years.

Illegal immigrants pay around 90billion a year in taxes. That’s a reported figure from the government themselves. Last regime changed caused trade issues with allies of Venezuela, as well as other global socioeconomic factors that impacted us once we took action.

Minorities are objectively being targeted, SCOTUS ruled that 1 of 4 factors to stop and detain someone for ICE interrogation was skin color. That alone would’ve caused millions to be impacted purely based off precedent IF that were the only thing in play when it comes to ICE. That doesn’t mention their contracts with surveillance technology and scraping data from Americans.
