I’m sympathetic until someone starts actively harming others and/or advocating for them being harmed. You don’t get to be a nazi just because you’re mentally ill. Tolerance cannot be given to the intolerant.

Mental health is only an excuse for quirky behavior dontcha know? Actual major mental health episodes directly caused by lack of treatment and care deserves hatred and ridicule, not compassion and demand for accessible care! Rehabilitate justice is only for those who commit cute, easily digestible crimes 🥰

Having mental illness doesnt give you a free pass to be a nazi bro. Even if he was in psychosis he still did bad shit and should be held accountable for the harm he caused

Sympathy for mental illness is only reserved for the “whimsy quirky” white women

Not once did I say he’s free of guilt or that its a free pass. Im saying some people here only sympathize when it’s with someone they agree with

You dont have to forgive him and I never said what he did is correct or that he can get off scott free. My problem is with people being dismissive and not accepting that this dude is severely mentally ill and just refusing to acknowledge that he’s owning up to it and just thinking he’s using the illness as an excuse

Like he’s gonna have to deal w the consequences of everything and that could take years but even at the end of the message he says something along the lines of “i dont ask for forgiveness just understanding” and i think people are just completely disregarding the fact that he has a disorder cause of what he said during manic episodes

I accept that he’s severely mentally ill. But I don’t care if he’s owning up to it or not, and I don’t see why anyone else should either. What has he done to deserve acknowledgment? If he wants to own up to his mistakes and make himself into a better person, that’s great, but that’s not going to change my perspective of him. Why are you running defense for him so hard though? This guy released a song called Heil Hitler, is this really the guy you wanna be advocating for?

No im advocating for the dude that contributed significantly to music and the hiphop culture before he went down his insane rabbit hole and for a mental illness that people here dont understand how it works. You dont have to forgive him or change perceptions, i dont have to forgive him or change opinions (im not). I’ll say it again my problem isnt people forgiving him or not its people not getting how his disorder works

Hes ultra wealthy lmao wtf are you talking about. Take your bullshit somewhere else, hes a rich asshat that had plenty of access to treatment, he chose not to take it

Yeah he’s ultra wealthy and even that wasn’t enough for doctors to adequately treat him after a car accident for brain damage and provide preventative care. He’s rich and that still wasn’t enough for adequate treatment for bpd1. You have no clue how bipolar works if you think it was an active sane choice to not take his medication and not a direct side effect of manic episodes (and lack of correct medication to prevent them). “Take this pill bye” isn’t treatment

Like everyone said, mental health never excuses harmful behaviors. There’s millions of people with bipolar who don’t turn into neonazis on Twitter. But it is a casual factor that shouldn’t be ignored. It’s very possible with adequate diagnostics and maintenance care he never world have had a manic episode that caused the behavior. So if we actually don’t want it to happen again we would support preventative and rehabilitative care, not removal from society. You don’t have to like him for that
