It physically hurts these people to see and hear things that challenge their world view becuase they make the naive mistake of adopting these things as their whole personality/identity, rather than holding them as mere morals or beliefs like normal people do. You’ll notice a greater difference in reaction from folks like this, to opposite folks. It’s literal brainwash.
