You let them do it. If people are worth a shit they’ll realize it’s bullshit when they come and talk to you If not, well their lack of fact checking shows they might not be someone you want to be around

Accept that they’ll never change. You can’t reason with people like that. I dealt with someone like this and they spread lies about me to make themselves look like the victim. I never engaged, I stayed quiet, wished them the best and refrained from talking trash about them to other people, and eventually those people caught on to the fact that this person was the problem cause people always show their true colors in the end

If they try to tell you how you feel just respond with how do you know how I feel if you’re not me or something like that when I started doing that with my ex my ex started taking a step back because he didn’t like it

Yeah same issue here, this guy will literally cry in front of people to sell his narrative. It’s pretty unsettling how he switches from a narcissistic attitude in private to this innocent persona in public, I’ve done my best to distance myself but he’s literally latched on now like a parasite and is obsessed with trying to make me look bad whenever he can

No literally, I’ve realized anytime I try to actually say anything about how he acted, he completely flips the narrative to victimize himself in front of everyone, I’ve found that even trying to defend yourself is just giving him more fuel

Yes unfortunately they’ll say outlandish things about your character to get you to react so they have more ammo. Don’t be surprised that once you stop engaging, they’ll make their lies about you more insane to get a response. You just have to ignore it cause they’ll eventually get bored. These people are so delusional that they eventually show their true selves once they attach themselves to someone else. You won’t have to say a word cause their actions will expose themselves.
