In essence, "The Rebel" is Camus's passionate plea for a humanism rooted in solidarity, moderation, and a commitment to the here and now. He urges his readers to be rebels, not revolutionaries—to fight against injustice without becoming the new oppressors, and to affirm human life and dignity even in the face of an absurd world.
