I wouldnt say AI was a mistake but the access to it this early was a mistake. AI is very impressive in the technology sense but if we had more time to hone it and possibly reduce the ecological strain it definitely would be better

AI can be a good tool however regulations should have been put in place before it was rolled out

People are literally using AI to create CSAM and all they need is a picture of a face

I saw a tweet where you should compare AI to a rat. Like “we’ve trained this rat to detect cancer cells before they develop!” That’s a good thing. “We’ve trained this rat to pick who gets an interview instead of reviewing resumes ourselves!” Bad thing. Rat sniffing out flaws in airplane construction good, rat replacing actors and artists bad.

Yeah exactly, it should be used as a tool. And like any tool, it’s only useful when properly used and managed
