I’m not saying this is 100% of the energy of this post but I have qualms with the notion that it’s the victims ‘choice’ whether or not to sustain abuse. The type of manipulation that leads people into thinking they have no choice or that the abuse is all in their head can run so deep. That being said, I understand that denial in a situation harmful to oneself is essentially complicity in a situation harmful to others.
