I've found that in the adult world, if you're kind and pleasant, people tend to be kind and pleasant back. It's that simple. Kindness and friendliness get you pretty far in life.

I feel like i have a problem where im kind (or try to be) but not friendly bc im insanely socially anxious and every interaction feels like im subconsciously trying to figure out the quickest way to exit the conversation or situation 🫤

That’s not how life works that’s how people take advantage of your kindness. Glad the world hasn’t stolen your innocence yet

Well it's a combo of unrelenting kindness and friendliness, plus strict boundaries and being unafraid to say the complete sentence that is 'No'. I learned my lesson already (a billion times over) that if you give ppl an inch, they'll take a mile and then some 😭 But! There's no reason to stop being kind/friendly! I refuse to ever let anyone or anything steal my sparkle.

I used to have HORRIBLE social anxiety. A part of it for me, was I felt super disconnected from others, almost like other ppl were alien. Like they were invading my reality and it'd send my system into shock/panic. Or I'd just try to hard to try to present myself in ways that'd fit in to their world. Then I realized we're all in the same boat, we're all in the game of life together. We're all family.

Now I can chat up pm anyone 😂 I stopped worrying about how they perceive me/how can I appease them/seem normal to them. Being unapologetically authentic is actually pretty fly with most ppl.
