Getting to know someone you think is interested in you, only to hear them drop something about their partner, is one of the strangest feelings ever. Like, you didn’t get rejected, but all of your hopes with that person are just casually smothered. ☹️

You don’t have to just ask, but bringing it up in conversation is totally fine. Even if we were just trying to be friends with them it wouldn’t be strange to ask if they are with someone, it would honestly just be polite. But if you really don’t wanna go that route, get their social media and see if their account has indicators of their relationship status. There’s lots of other ways too but you gotta pick one or this will happen again
