It’s what they’re not doing. They’re not interacting with their kids. They’re not disciplining them. They’re not teaching them emotional regulation. They’re not playing with them. They’re not restricting access to tech. They’re not monitoring tech. They’re not raising their kids. They’re giving them a literal addiction because it’s easy and lazy. I work in education. The amount of toddlers with headphones head dents is depressing.

Neglect. We need to start calling it what it is

Nothing. That’s why they’re acting out. Except that’s not the whole truth. They can’t do anything because they’re too busy working fucking day and night to not go into bankruptcy or flat out fucking homeless. Because god forbid billionaires don’t have ALL the money in the world.

Nothing is what they’re doing. They’re doing nothing and giving the kids an iPad. No iPad, kid goes insane because they have no other way to regulate themselves.

Head *dents*? Like they’re physically deformed from headphones?

Yeah. Streamers have it so it’s a running joke online but the youths have it too

To clarify, it’s not a permanent dent but if you use headphones for extended periods you will have a small indentation where they rest and it can take hours/days to go away

…no, severe ones starting from this young in childhood are permanent. They’re physically altering the structure of the skull. Ones from pressing down on your hair and mildly skin (not much scalp skin to swell/compress anyway) from casual use as an adult are temporary, but I’m talking about physical bone dents

Now they don’t cause any problems other than cosmetic (according to currently available research) which is a good sign. But to have a child that young wearing them often enough to change their head shape? Irreversible psychological damage
