Thereâs proper channels to take down dictators. Itâs not just a decision that is made in the middle of the night without congressional approval. Not to mention, instead of allowing the proper government officials to assume control of the country, Trump said WE are assuming control of Venezuela
yall are complaining just to complain, each time a new headline in the news comes on itâs just another reason to play the blame game. Not to mention venezuela doesnât have the necessary firepower to try and fight a world super power. Unless china steps in like they did before with venezuela i donât see anything happening. If anything the middle eastern oil producers are going to be pissed over this because we just assumed control of the largest oil reserves(even larger than saudi arabia)
Nation building has proven to be the most effective if implemented by indigenous or internal bodies. People that the Venezuelan people know and trust. The likelihood of nation building through an external third party body, taking power without the trust and support of the people of that country, is much lower
Which is why the lack of planning is not okay. There were proper ways of doing this instead of the dead of night with no congressional approval. If this was something planned out throughly, we wouldnât have to scramble to take control of a country that we canât say for sure wonât view this as us just,,,taking their country from them
This is only true if youâre getting your information from right wing media. As a Venezuelan I can safely say people are not celebrating and theyâre especially not celebrating that puppet Maria thatâs just going to give away our resources while she pockets the money and leaves the people with nothing
Yeah because the western media is trying to manufacture consent for an invasion like use your brain a little or did you learn nothing from the invasion of Iraq? Maria and her opposition government are extremely unpopular in Venezuela, itâs clear you know nothing about the world outside your own borders if you think people are welcoming an actual dictatorship with open arms.
Idk man, Iâve only seen people happy about itđ¤ˇââď¸ Youâre the first upset person Iâve seen thatâs actually from Venezuela, everyone else is Americans that only donât like it bc Trump did it. Oh, and you said âonlyâ seeing things from right wing media, but cnn literally posted a video of Venezuelan citizens in the streets singing and celebrating
I didnât say anything about war. You can not engage in a special operation in a foreign country and kidnap people the ruler just because heâs suspected of having engaged in a crime. This is international law 101 and if the US does not respect international laws it sets the precedent that other countries do not have to respect them either.
It is almost 100% solely about oil. If he really cared about the people of Venezuela he would have set up a transition plan for them to rule themselves asap and not extract a resource vital to the countries economy for the first benefit of American companies at the expense of their everyday citizens.
People are genuinely HAPPY and CELEBRATING in the streets now that heâs gone. He fucked his people over, like you said, all so he could get money from the drug lords, China, and Russia. The fear is that those countries will now use Madura as an excuse to justify the Ukraine invasion or an invasion into Taiwan. Trump said we were going to support a democratic transition to powerânot take over the country. Like, people saying this was a bad thing are so weird
Whataboutism deflects from the original criticism by excusing it with irrelevant information. This is especially fallacious when you are arguing on a position with a person you have no clue about. Like Iâve said previously (that the other mouth breather couldnât read): Obamaâs drone strikes were also bad. Their existence does not excuse or explain the current administrationâs handling of the situation
The actual winner of the election has seemingly had little contact with our government and Trump has already admitted to taking over and taking some resources as compensation. After they move out, the country will be left in a state of turmoil. This is no different than the Iraq war
âHelps both partiesâ bro really forgot about Iraq! Not to mention there was no confirmation on whether or not the boats were civilian at the time and how there are speculative reports about civilians being caught in the bombing. But sure dude, keep talking like you know shit lol
