I know it might sound bad to some people but whatever, each time I see a post about ICE I get pissed. Not just bc it’s a bad situation but bc I know majority posting about it don’t actually care. Because NOW you care about this type of violence when pt1.

America has been this violent towards the people who live on this land since its creation? Now everyone wants to stand up and protest but a good chunk of these people didn’t care when multiple marginalized groups were/are consistently being attacked but now that a group is showing they’ll attack indiscriminately now suddenly everyone sees a problem and is acting like “this isn’t the America I know”? It is the America you know you just didn’t care enough to look at the history America has pt2

no i 100% agree. like, just because you were privileged enough to not be in danger before doesn’t mean it’s not BEEN happening. it honestly takes a lot for me to get really pissed, but i’m seeing people finally get angry and scared and i almost wanna be like “you deserve this” because people of color have been suffering, and dying, and being dehumanized, and you’re only noticing now that a couple of white people have died.

with marginalized people. Also I can’t stand that people keep bringing up Israel with this because 1. It actively takes away from the situation and treats America like it doesn’t have a history of this type of violence and 2. There’s more than just Israel and America that do stuff like this so sorry imho bringing up Israel sounds dumb asf. Also another thing someone may get mad at because yk people love to complain about identity politics even though you identity matters in this country, pt3

it’s not lost on many that when Native Americans and Black people have to deal with this type of violence (it’s not much different because America has been using this level of violence on us) it’s thrown on the back burner, ignored, and fewer people pay attention to it but if the victim is white then half of the country is talking about it

and they’re all up in arms like, “we need to stop this,” meanwhile as soon as white people are protected again they’ll go silent and meek like they were before. like, you can’t say that you want to dismantle racism and white privilege while still reaping the benefits of them. if they actually want change, then they’re going to have to let themselves be treated just like everyone else, and that starts with acknowledging everyone else
