You shouldn’t pay it off completely but do keep it at or just below 30% before the billing cycle ends if you want to increase your credit score

Mine is at $2,800 now. It was $3,200 like a month ago. I have to pay grad school app fees but I do have some other streams of income so realistically I could pay most of it off in a month. At least half

OP is probably just trying to pay it off to get rid of the debt because they were unable previously. I’d prefer that they get rid of the mental load of having debt than putting lots of mental effort into possibly getting a few more points of credit. I think being unable to pay off a credit card is much worse for credit score. Good job OP!

I mean naturally it’s not an overnight fix but from April to today, I was able to increase my score by 80 ish points using it and paying a day or two before the cycle ended

I have a long distance bf so each trip with flights and everything ends up being $500-700 total. With the gov shutdown, issues with flights, him not being able to use his pto for the rest of this year, that money can go towards paying it off instead
