At what point does someone blaming mental health on things just become excuses? I want to feel empathetic but also if all you are doing is complaining and being shitty to people who care with no action or ambition to find help idk what you expect.

They do not take accountability for their actions and instead say things like “I can’t help that I forgot to FaceTime you, it’s my ADHD”, they have gotten fired from multiple jobs due to time blindness, they also make excuses for their spouse being abusive during manic episodes comparing bipolar to cancer. I care about them but I also am drained from them not wanting to get better for themselves.
