I’m mixed but I still feel like I’ve fallen into the category of liberal women who end up with conservative men. It feels counterintuitive. He thinks it is just a difference in opinion but we have completely different moral compasses

if you want marriage and kids just think about that and discuss with him how you will handle certain things, how you would raise your kids.

It very much is a difference of morals as he seems to lack a level of understanding and compassion for other people. Speaking on issues he has never experienced. An example he gave me was of a video of someone else’s take on it

well you do technically have different values but both are still Western so it’s not that crazy. He derives his from God and yours from the dominant progressive culture. Both value systems are good, not something worth blowing your relationship up over

It had to do with his take on the snap benefits. He said to me that in his state snap was resumed because the “ liberal judges cried for them” like had no sympathy for the children that may suffer. Usually conservative people say they are because of religion. He is not religious just is in favor of corporations and does not believe in capping rent. He says bigoted things. Specifically about the new mayor of New York

I have asked if he thinks we will ever be able to be happy together and somewhat align. I am biracial and politics has a direct impact on studies I have been a part of, my scholarship, ability to attend grad school, my family, my safety
