If you’re someone who works for what they have, pays taxes, doesn’t cause trouble, and just wants to live a decent life, I don’t give a flying fuck if you’re undocumented.

They very likely would not be here doing all of that if they were undocumented. They’d have to get paid under the table and unable to pay taxes bc they don’t have a SSN, first of all. The government would find them very fast. A common misconception is that democratic presidents don’t enforce immigration laws or deport when they do Your post is honestly the best case scenario but it just isn’t realistic

Immigration laws from the US and other countries would disagree with you

Legal immigration is a much larger problem than illegal immigration. I don’t understand why neocons have so much fervor and zealous when it comes to illegal immigration but not the exploitation of the H1B program or the influx of international students

If I illegally immigrate to Canada without authorization, and the Canadian government finds out I am undocumented. What will the Canadian government do to me? Oh I know, I will get removed and deported. Much like 95% of countries.

I’m pretty sure that’s common knowledge so idk why you thought that was important to point out… all I’m saying is that if they’re just trying to get through life like the average person and not harming anyone, then I don’t give a shit if they’re here without documentation

If they are here without documentation, they are here illegally and should be sent home. As my point above had stated. The presence of illegal immigrants in the country is a slap in the face of everyone that did it right. This isn't a case of "fuck you, got mine". It's a case of "fuck you, fill out the damn application form." I don’t know why we should reward bad behavior and people who break rules.

It’s not a simple “fill out the application and boom you’re good.” They’ll wait years just to be told “lol nah” for no good reason at all. If you wanna fix the immigration issue, make it easier

Fine. I agree we should make the immigration process easier and faster. But that does not justify breaking immigration rules and laws. Canada is more strict than the US on who to give citizenship to.

It’s more-so about the violence in the US that comes with it. It’s clearly a race-targeted thing when they say shit like they’ll question you just for a hispanic accent. How bout the smart sounding English dude that outstayed his visa by 10 years? Why aren’t they questioning them? And the fact that ICE are just detaining and arresting people without even letting them prove their citizenship. It’s just fucked up how they’re going about everything.

And yet they still do pay taxes and pay into systems they’ll never see any benefit from but we do. Immigrants, documented or not, benefit us and see very little to none of it themselves.

So what about countries that deport people because they didn’t come in legally?

You do realize a lot of illegal immigrant labor is done underhanded, right? You see legal immigrants working everything bc they can, but to hire an illegal immigrant then becomes a liability bc not only does the business then risk losing labor, they risk being fined. Illegal migrant labor is largely done through loopholes and hard cash. Businesses that are labor-dominant (roofing, farming, etc.) frequently exploit these people bc it’s CHEAP on the owner’s dime.

Maybe this is unpopular, but I don’t think someone who doesn’t contribute what WE, as citizens, contribute through our taxes and other benefits (which are a farce anyways—think medical care) should be allowed to take advantage of those things. There are laws that ALLOW documented migrants to access healthcare and such and that’s perfectly fine! But someone who’s here illegally should not be entitled to those benefits. I’m all for LEGAL immigration, but its no secret our system needs an overhaul

OP makes a great point (original reply to #1 here). Immigration enforcement needs to be equal. I will say, however, I read a story about a white man (European) who was arrested and deported to his “home” country when he had a family, job, house, etc. here. So, it does happen to Caucasian immigrants too but we don’t know those #s bc the narrative is all about making you REACT instead of think i.e., US media is inherently and unjustly biased and does not report things that don’t benefit them

I didn’t “spew misinformation”. And you used a .org which isn’t exactly the most reliable source of information. You just confirmed what I said. Undocumented is not illegal. Undocumented could mean a legal migrant waiting for legal documentation Stop trying to interchange the two terms. They are very different. An undocumented migrant is not necessarily illegal. “You people” is silly when you don’t know even the difference b/t illegal and undocumented

this is objectively blatant misinformation. you people never accept sources that disprove your nonsense. you clearly don't know about ITIN and other identification that allows undocumented immigrants to file (yes, they are still deemed undocumented with this, which may be counterintuitive but not contradictory) estimates range from 50-75% of ITIN filers being undocumented

dude what are you talking about? no way is your whole argument semantics, obviously nobody is saying it’s illegal to exist, but they don’t have citizenship or any legal status that allows them within the USA’s borders. are illegals made out to be the threat that neocons make them? no, but that doesn’t change their status

I have morals over white supremacist idiots racially profiling and detaining anyone with darker skin all for the sake of “illegal immigration” when we really know it’s about control and fear like why do they need quotas and pulling ICE agents off their other serious cases if not to just spread more fear, but hey let the South African white people into the country on a fast track over a hoax that’s perfectly okay and shows no bias whatsoever
