How does being an asexual work..? Don’t u need a level of sexual attraction toward someone to like them? Like I kinda get aromantic and asexual, but asexual by itself…?

straight ace here—when i like someone it’s mainly an emotional attraction as opposed to a physical one. in terms of action i’d prob want to spend lots of time w them, hug/cuddle and maybe kiss but i wouldn’t want to do anything sexual, involving genitalia etc

As an asexual person, I still feel romantic attraction towards people. Everyone who is asexual is asexual for different reasons, and some asexual people still have sex. My experience with asexuality is that I cannot imagine myself having sex with anyone at all. Even though I don’t see myself ever having sex, I am ok with romantic gestures like kisses if I ever were to have a romantic partner.

Not really, demis feel their specific attraction (i.e. demiromantic or demisexual) when they feel a strong connection to someone. I’m demiromantic as well, and for me that means that I don’t develop crushes straight away. For demisexuality (which is a part of the ace umbrella, and I’d be happy to chat more about the ace umbrella as well), sexual attraction is not felt until they establish that strong connection with someone.
